One day hike to Huchuy Qosqo
Join us on a fantastic full day hike, passing through beautiful mountain scenery and finally reaching Huchuy Qosqo, a lesser known ancient Inca archaeological site situated on plateau with stunning views over the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
We will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco at 6am in a private transport and will head to the small Andean Community of Tauca, where we will start our trek at 3600 meters above sea level. We will walk uphill for the first 2 hours to the mountain pass, enjoying beautiful views of the Urubamba mountain range in the company llamas and alpacas.
After we reach the top, we will start descending along the Inca Trail and reach the Pumamarca (to confirm) community where we will share a hearty lunch.
Our adventure then continues through the beautiful Puncu canyon. This trail will lead you to the isolated and mysterious Inca site of Huchuy Qosqo (“the little Cusco’’) perched on a hill above the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
During the guided tour of the complex, you will discover all the site’s amazing Inca buildings such as sacred temples, storehouses, Inca terraces for agriculture, and many more.
Later in the afternoon, we will start our 2-hour descent to the town of Lamay where your private transportation will be waiting to drive you back to Cusco. Estimated arrival time in the evening.
