Just to let you know that we had the most WONDERFUL time on our 4-day trek to Choquequirao. Thank you for your help in the build-up to the trip by providing all the right information so that we were prepared. Nestor, our guide was very knowledgeable, patient and good fun. The food provided by the cook was exceptional and the service overall was A1+. It's a very difficult trek and the mules were a godsend to help carry our gear!
We hope to be back next year and to do another adventure trek with you.
Cheers, best wishes.

Just returned from the five-day Choquequirao trek with my 10-year old son. Yom, Rachel and the whole Chaskana Travel scene they facilitated was just what we had in mind... and more. We felt well cared for in every aspect and saw some pristine Andean scenery and ruins. Yom and his young assistant, John, were a great fit for us: knowledgeable, helpful, entertaining, and over-all fun. Thanks for facilitating such a memorable time for me and my son. A great value-for-money. We highly recommend Chaskana Travel!

Just completed our Peruvian adventure which exceeded our expectations. Rachel organised everything from the moment we landed in Lima until we completed our Inca Trail trek and were tucked back up in our hotel in Cuzco 18 days later. Everything worked smoothly with no issues whatsoever. Our guide Yom was sensational as we drove from Lima to Paracas National Park, Ica, Nazca, Camana, Arequipa, Chivay, Puno, and onto Cuzco. His local and cultural knowledge exposed us to the true Peruvian way of life and ensured we experienced things that we would never have done on our own. His humour and driving skills were well appreciated as was his relaxed style. We would highly recommend Chaskana Travel to anyone wanting an authentic Peruvian experience.

We took the 2 day tour of the Inca sites of the Sacred Valley with Yom from Chaskana Travel and it was absolutely fantastic ! We went as a family with two children (aged 9 & 6) and I have to say how surprised I was at how well Yom was at keeping my kids (as well as all the adults) engaged the whole time! We visited so many sites over the two day tours, however it was very well organised that not once did we feel rushed. Yom is very clearly so passionate and knowledgeable of history of his beautiful area and Rachel his wife is excellent at communication (she's Australian) and organising the tours over email for you. We truly found Chaskana Travel so well organised that we will now be booking our Machu Picchu tour through them as well.

My husband and I went on a day tour of the Maras Salineras, Moray and Ollantaytambo ruins with Chaskana Travel and it was amazing. I am a travel agent and have been on many organised tour, and I can tell you that Yom is one of the best guide I ever met. The day was perfectly organised, and Yom even added a couple of bonus secret stops that only locals know about. We had a great day and we would recommend them 100%!

We have had two FANTASTIC 3 day tours with Chaskana travel in October 2017. First Tour:
Day one: Yom drove us in his 4 x 4 through the sacred valley and up to the Abra Malaga pass. Where we and our folding bikes were unloaded and we had the great fun & joy of rolling down on our bicycles for the next 30 - 40 km. Half way down we had lunch with Yom and then continued down. Yom picked us up again and we drove another 1 to 1,5 hrs to santa Teresa where we enjoyed the hot springs and stayed overnight in a lovely eco jungle hotel. Special experience.
Day 2: We went to hydro electrica; Yom parked the car and we took the train to Calientes where we booked into our hotel and then went to Machu Picchu.
Day 3: We had chosen to have a second visit to Machu Picchu the next morning....and YES Machu Picchu is a MUST to see when you're in Peru!
In the afternoon we began the 5 - 6 hrs travel back to Cusco.
We love the amazing flexibility of Chaskana travel to tailor make each trip. We so much appreciated the opportunities we had for bringing our folding bikes and using them on the way.
On the next tour we also brought our folding bikes and again enjoyed rolling down a few roads.
Day 1: Our first stop were the Oéswachaka Inca Straw bridge, which we enjoyed to cross and yes there were a few butterflies in our stomachs as we began the crossing...Yom prepared a lovely picnic table at the edge of the canyon, so we overlooked the canyon and the straw bridge. Yom prepared and served a hot lunch!!! FIRST CLASS!...and there were no other visitors around, which is hard to comprehend.
we continued on to visit the Kana'Marka ruins - again no other visitors than us, which we loved. We stayed overnight in Espinar. We'll never forget the monster, HUGE portions we were served for dinner....even American portions are petite in comparison!
Day 2: We enjoyed the 3 Canyones and this time Yom served another outstanding picnic at the river side. We stayed overnight in a very nice hotel.
Day 3: we visited "the other" - rainbow mountains. This visit was an absolute highlight for us...not only the mountains and the many colors but also the amazing valley we drove through on the way up there....and we so much enjoyed the freedom to walk all over the area and great to see the llamas grazing.
We HIGHLY RECOMMEND CHASKANA TRAVEL!

The two bedroom cottage was clean and quaint but the best part of our stay was Yom and Rachel. Yom provided my husband a trip to Rainbow Mountain where he and our daughter experienced a once in a lifetime trip in hiking and taking beautiful photographs in this very rare part of Peru. With little other tourists to compete with, Yom seems to know the secret paths to various side trips --all by using his cottage as a homebase. A wonderful couple. If you are English speaking then Rachel and Yom will help you make any trip preparations you need such as Taxi's. Although the cottage is 15 or 20 minutes away from Cusco; it was actually nice to be in a more authentic village environment rather than in the heart of Tourism main square. We had both experiences.

Yom and Rachel very friendly and helpful. We received some complimentary supplies upon arrival. Yom was very helpful guide during our trip to Machu Picchu. We are very satisfied with our stay there. Big house, fridge, kitchen, Wi-Fi and all the necessary amenities for a comfortable and relax time, and whenever we need something they were always available.

We couldn't have asked for a better travel agency then Chaskana Travel. Yom and his wife Rachel are super nice and knowledgeable. We saw so many things and learned so much about the land and people of Peru. They accommodated our travel plans so we could see the things we were interested in and also had some great suggestions for things to do. The biggest plus is, that they rent out a house on their property, so you literally don't even have to find a hotel before you go on tour with them. We will surely come back to Peru and travel with them again. I can highly recommend them.

I had a wonderful time staying at Chaskana Guesthouse for a month. The place is atmospheric and spacious and it is a great, authentic place to relax and explore the local life of Cusco. The landscapes are amazing as you can see in the photos: the mountains can be seen from any window. The center is only a 15-20 minute taxi ride from the house which I found convenient. Rachel and Yom are really kind, helpful people that know a lot about the culture of Cusco and Peru in general. Yom is also a professional tour guide with whom I did a trip to the Rainbow Mountains which was one of the best experiences I have had traveling! His prices are very reasonable and everything was provided: food, knowledge about the areas, etc (all in good english). All in all, I warmly recommend this guesthouse to anybody visiting Cusco! 🙂

Thanks so much for your kind hospitality over the last 10 days. We really enjoyed our stay in Cusco! The Maras Moray, Rainbow Mountain and Machu Picchu trips we did together were all very memorable, thanks for the many conversations and laughs. 🙂 All the best for the future! Keep in touch!

Positive feedback: We traveled with Chaskana in September 2012 and had the holiday of a lifetime. Every day was an adventure, a surprise, a delight, educational, inspirational. A total must for reasonably fit and healthy people looking for something different to do each day.
Ideas for improvement: They would be struggling to improve what was such a well tailored trip. Keep up the great work and enthusiasm.
Must do/see: Machu Picchu, Los Uros at Lake Titicaca, Kana'Marka and Maukallqta, Qéswachaka Inca Straw Bridge, San Pedro Market, Pisac Market, Ollantaytambo, Inca Trail, Amazon Jungle

We are back on the Gold Coast after an amazing trip to Sth America which included some of our time with Yom and Rachel from Chaskana Tours, Colca Canyon, Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca and many more amazing sites. Yom was the driver as well as the guide and he did a fabulous job, even to the point of being the negotiator for some bartering which took place to achieve the best prices on items we purchased. Yom was also the cook on the occasions when we would stop on a view point and have lunch there. The rest of our tour without Yom and Rachel was organized by them and was also exciting, Galapagos Islands and Iguaccu Falls in Brazil were among some and which where a good selection for us.
Thanks for a great time.
